Who Attends Orientation?

First-year and Transfer Undergraduates
Orientation is required for all new degree-seeking undergraduate first-year and transfer students in order to receive academic advising and clearance for registration.

Non-Traditional Undergraduates
If you are planning to take all evening courses, you are a state employee, an adult learner, or full-time employee; you may call the Office of New Student & Family Programs at 850/644-2785 to obtain information about our evening orientation programs. An evening orientation program will be held each term just before the start of classes. Students will not qualify for course registration until they have completed an orientation program.

How to Register for Orientation.

There are two ways to register for orientation at FSU. The quickest and easiest way is through our online registration system. This site will allow you to print out a registration form that can be mailed in with your payment (check or money order) or complete student/family registration online with payment. A space in an orientation program will not be held and your reservation not saved without complete payment online or through the mail. Those who choose not to use computer registration or print a registration form to be mailed may contact the Office of New Student & Family Programs and request that a traditional paper form be sent to you. Space for each orientation session is limited and space is available on a first-reserve basis (space will not be reserved until full payment is made). All orientation fees are nonrefundable.
